Welcome
Welcome to dulcisono's 9th season!
Mission Statement: dulcisono is a community of women united by a passion for choral music. Through study and performance, we enrich our own lives while adding to the cultural heritage of the wider community.
Dulcisono is committed to exploring and performing the wide variety of music for women's voices, an eclectic mix of familiar and rarely-heard works, from medieval chant to the music of our own times, with an emphasis on music by women and Canadians. We aspire to the highest level of performance, offering innovative programming that appeals to audiences across a wide spectrum of musical taste.
"These dedicated women produced a beautiful, blended tone, with exquisite pitch." - Kathryn Domoney, singer.
Since her inception in 2003, dulcisono has presented eighteen full concerts, as well as appearing with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Consortium Aurora Borealis, the Oulainen Finnish Youth Choir and at numerous other community events. Commissions have included "Gloria" by Jared Hynnes, Ojibwe Landscapes by Brian Hubelit, and "Poem for Peace in Many Voices" by Darlene Chepil Reid.
